Since 1948, the Pallas Group has been a constant in the audio media industry – independent, family-run, and driven by clear values.
Today, Dominic Neumann (4th generation) and Ingo Kleimann lead the company.

Our guiding principle: Long-term success outweighs short-term highs.

The Pallas Group consists of three companies with around 130 employees, all based in Diepholz:

Pallas GmbHProducing vinyl records since the 1940s. One of the last European pressing plants during the vinyl recession, still globally recognized for exceptional sound quality.

P+O Compact Disc GmbH & Co. KGSpecializing in CD and DVD production. Clients include music publishers, industry, education, and private customers.

Deutsche Austrophon GmbH & Co. KGOur own label DA Music: signing artists, distributing worldwide, and collaborating with a wide network of labels.

The History of the Pallas Group 

is a success story – for the company and the people working there, the industry and the business location Diepholz.

It begins in the period of the ‘Wirtschaftswunder’ after WWII, is characterized by continuous technical and operational innovations, and a fast-paced industry that has often undergone dynamic change processes in the more than six decades.

1948

Company founded by managing directors Karl Neumann and Albert Vogt. The first location is at the Schömastraße Diepholz.

 

1954

Foundation of the distribution department Deutsche Austrophon. The present name DA Music was derived from this.

 

1954

The company moves into new premises in Diepholz,
Auf dem Esch 8.

 

1957

Construction of a boiler house.

 

1959

Construction of a second plant in Cornau.

 

1964

The beginning boom necessitates an extension of the office space.

 

1966

Commissioning of a new pressing plant. Pallas consistently relies on automation and innovative production techniques.

 

1974

Company founder Karl Neumann dies. He is succeeded by his son Rolf, who consistently continues the modern business strategy of expansion. New markets are opened up and Pallas is becoming a global player.

 

1976

The music cassette finds its way into the corporate portfolio.

 

1987

P+O Compact Disc, newly established subsidiary of Pallas, starts the first manufacturing plant for CDs.

 

2001

With the introduction of the DVD a new data medium conquers the market – particularly in the areas of film and computer games. From the outset, P+O Compact Disc GmbH is successful with this new medium.

 

2002

Rolf Neumann transfers the company’s executive management to his son Holger, who now runs the family business in its third generation.

 

2008

For the first time the production figures of the classic vinyl record – pronounced dead a long time ago – are back up. An upward trend that continues today. Pallas is one of the market leaders in this segment.

 

2013

On Easter Monday, the manufacturing facility of CD production burns to the ground. The reconstruction is started immediately.

 

2014

In the summer the new build production hall inaugurated and shortly after the first CDs and DVDs are pressed again.

 

2015

Commissioning of five self-developed record presses – the first new presses worldwide since the 1980s.

 

2021

Further investments in machinery and personnel. This increases the production of records to the highest levels in the company’s 70-year history.

 

2023

75 years of Pallas – a milestone in our success story

For three-quarters of a century, Pallas has stood for tradition, reliability and quality.

This anniversary is not only a significant moment in our company history, but above all the result of a strong team, long-standing partnerships and the trust of our customers and suppliers.

Together we have achieved what has distinguished Pallas for 75 years: the highest product and service quality, based on lived values ​​and genuine cooperation.

 

2026

Holger Neumann transfers the company’s executive management to his son Dominic, who now runs the family business in its fourth generation.

 

Due to the rapidly evolving technology in the areas of media and entertainment industry the focus of Pallas Group Worldwide – with all due awareness of the company’s culture and history – is fixed mainly on what the future will bring in innovations and market changes…

Schallplatten 

Mit höchstem Qualitätsanspruch setzen wir weltweit Maßstäbe und zählen zu den führenden Herstellern von Schallplatten.

Vinyl Formate 

Die gebräuchlichsten Schallplattenformate sind die 7-Zoll-Single und die 12-Zoll-Langspielplatte (LP), wobei es zusätzlich die 10-Zoll-Platte gibt. Diese Formate unterscheiden sich in Größe, Abspieldrehzahl (33 1/3 oder 45 U/min) und Spieldauer.
